Villagers released after six months of detention at border camp
Christians who were abducted by rebel factor in Khumi community of Western Chin state of Myanmar have been released. The 52 Christians who were abducted by a set of Arakan Army in Myanmar were released after spending at least six months in detention at the border camp of the state.
Although the rebel group has denied the allegation of abducting people from the village, speaking to newsmen, the spokesperson of the rebel group cited that the Arakan Army only helped the villagers to move to safety after fighting in Chin’s Paletwa township and that the group never took any villager by force.
