Says the UN has departed from its commitment to national sovereignty, international law and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Argentine President Javier Milei has delivered a blistering criticism of the United Nations, accusing the organization of failing to live up to the principles behind its founding mission.
Speaking from the UN General Assembly podium, Milei described the United Nations as a “useless organization” and condemned what he characterized as “fatally arrogant parasites” within the institution. He argued that the UN has departed from its commitment to national sovereignty, international law and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Milei also questioned the effectiveness of UN resolutions, arguing that the organization’s authority is weakened when its decisions are not followed by consequences. His remarks placed a sharp spotlight on the UN’s role and effectiveness in addressing international disputes.
