State Returning and Collation Officers present results from each state at National Collation Center
Collation of results for the 2019 presidential election in Nigeria which held on Saturday 23rd February across the 36 states of the federation including the FCT., commenced today at about 12 noon. The National Collation Center in Abuja, the nations capital city, presided over by INEC's boss, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, played host to state Returning and Collation officers who came to present collated results from their individual states. First to arrive were results from Ekiti State, south-west Nigeria. Results from other states began to arrive afterwards and were presented by the commissioners to the INEC chairman openly in the presence of designated party agents, the press, observers and other stakeholders present. At the time of this report, results from 5 states of the federation had been presented to the INEC chairman. These include; Ekiti, Osun, FCT, Kwara and Nassarawa State. The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) clinched Ekiti State with a total of 219,231 votes followed by the main opposition party (PDP) with a total of 154,032 votes. Similar win was recorded by the APC in Osun State but with a slight margin (APC-347,637 and PDP-337,377). Results from Kwara State also saw APC lead with a total of 308,984 votes followed by the PDP with a total of 138,184 votes. The winning trend of the APC continued in Nasarawa State with a total of 289,903 but was closely followed by the PDP which recorded a total of 283,847 votes. The trend changed in the results from the FCT as the main opposition party, the PDP swept the FCT with a total of 259,997 votes and was followed by the ruling APC with a total of 152,224 votes.
