47 migrants remain blocked on board the humanitarian sea-watch vessel as standoff
Report says 47 migrants have been blocked on board the humanitarian sea-watch ship off the coast of Syracuse owing to political bickering’s between European countries over where they should be allowed to disembark. The Netherlands, which insisted on the need to properly distinguish between actual refugees and economic migrants, refused Italy's request to take in the migrants. The migrants were rescued from a rubber boat off the Libyan coast over a week ago by the Sea-Watch 3 with a Dutch flag run by a German humanitarian group which has since been buffeted by high winds and 23-foot waves.
