Nigeria Immigration Service announce postponement of new 10-year enhanced E-passport earlier scheduled to roll out in March
The Nigerian Immigration Service has postponed the issuance of the new 10 years enhanced e-passport till 29th April. This is to avail the Immigration Service the opportunity to finalize the integration of the national identity number (NIN) with the new passport. This was made known by the Comptroller General of the NIS, Mohammed Babandede in a statement signed by the public relations officer of NIS, James Sunday on Monday in Abuja, Nigeria's capital city. It was further stated that the price of the new passport earlier scheduled to roll out on the 4th of March remains the same.
Some of the special features of the new passport include; 10 years validity self-tracking application and express centers for urgent applications.
