Demands a new civilian sovereign council to oversee government
Main Protest group in Sudan known as the Sudanese Professionals Association (SPA) protest group has called for a strike in the country after a two major failed negotiation deals with the army. The negotiation deal was to let the civilian head the new sovereign council that is meant to oversee a three-year transition of government towards democracy in the country after the overthrow of the former leader, President Omar al-Bashir. According to reports, the military has been on the insistence on holding on to power and directing the transition and keeping a military majority on the council.
