Mabuza will not be sworn in as law maker alongside others says President Ramaphosa
The newly elected 400 members of parliament in South Africa were on Wednesday 22nd May, 2019 sworn in by Just Mogoeng Mogoeng except President Cyril Ramaphosa's influential deputy, David Mabuza. According to Ramaphosa, David Mabuza will not be sworn in as he requested for a postponement to enable him address allegations of corruption leveled against him.
Mabuza is slated to meet with the African National Congress (ANC) Integrity Commission to defend himself against allegations of dragging the party into disrepute. On the other hand, a group of people gathered outside parliament to protest as 400 members of parliament were due to be sworn in calling on members of parliament to put their constitutional duties ahead of their parties interest.
