Pray for Victims of Cyclone Idai

About 1.5 million people in three southern Africa countries affected

Victims of the devastating Cyclone Idai need prayers as they continue to mourn their losses. The horrendous Cyclone Idai made landfall during the night of 14 to 15 March 2019 affecting 1.5 million people in three southern Africa countries; Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The government of South Africa has pledged 60 million rands to provide relief aid to victims. Pledges to the tune of 51 million rands were also made by some other foundations as part of their support for victims. South African Minister of International Relations; Lindiwe Sisulu visited the cities of Beira in Mozambique, she is expected to also visit Chimanimani district in eastern Zimbabwe. During the visit, Sisulu is expected to meet with rescue teams including the South African National Defense Force, NGOs, United Nations agencies and other volunteers. In the event, over 700 people have been reported dead and more than half a million others displaced.
