Libyan Parliament approves law to increase teacher’s wages

Owing to threats by the Teachers Union, to launch a strike in protest of the poor welfare package from the government, the Libyan House of Representative has approved a law to improve teachers’ salary. Parliament's spokesman Abdullah said the law was approved after a formal brawling session in the presence of Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh. The union is demanding an increase of salaries and allowances for the teachers as well as health insurance for the teachers and their families.
