EU dismisses Trump's statement, claims lack of consolation and consultation by the US led to rapid spread of virus.
President Donald Trump of the United States has said that he would consider easing the travel restrictions imposed on European countries due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. The President made the statement in a press briefing where he said that he was quite elated about the fast recovery rate of some European countries like Italy and others. When asked by journalists about plans for reopening the travel restrictions, the President said, that would depend on how long it takes Europe to heal from the virus. Meanwhile, the European Union has dismissed comments from the president explaining that it is a lack of consolation and consultation from the side of the United States which caused the rapid spread of the virus in Europe.
