France’s Iconic Eiffel Tower Celebrates 130th Anniversary

Not less than seven million people visit the tower annually

One of the world's most iconic structures, Eiffel Tower has celebrated its 130th anniversary. Crowds of visitors queued to get a good look at the structure and also a panoramic view of the city from the top. The structure which rises above 324 meters is famed iron lady, and it is said that it was designed by Parisian engineer Gustave Eiffel. Built for the 1889 Universal Exhibition, the Eiffel Tower has now become the home of tourist attraction in France as not less than seven million people visit the tower every year and over 300 million people have come from different parts of the world to have feel of the tower since 1889. The construction of the tower took two years, two months and five days with a worker’s strength of 300 to 450.
