Lagos Reads initiative is geared towards achieving the goal
Lagos State government through its Lagos Reads initiative has encouraged school children to imbibe a viable reading culture. School children were advised to take advantage of public libraries around them to improve their knowledge bank through reading.
Speaking at the launch of the maiden edition of the Lagos Reads Quiz competition, and the presentation of the Lagos State Library Board vision and mission statements, the Permanent Secretary to office of the Special Adviser on Education, Lagos State, Shamsideen Allison explained the need for the Lagos Reads initiative.
Lagos Reads is an initiative aimed at improving the reading culture of all Lagos citizens by enabling, facilitating and promoting reading programs and activities in schools, as well as public and private libraries across the state.
