2019 Budget in Focus as Nigerian Senate Resumes Plenary

2019 appropriation bill passes second reading in Nigerian Senate

The Nigerian Senate has passed the 2019 appropriation bill 0f 8.83 trillion naira, for second reading at the resumption of plenary this week. Debate on the 2019 budget proposal were also concluded and referred issues raised during the debate to it's committee on appropriation, directing the committee to submit reports on the budget bill for final approval by the senate within a period of two weeks. All ministries and government agencies were also asked to honor invitations by the Senate to appear before various panels set by the Senate to defend the proposed budget for their agencies.
