Past Caine prize winners are being revolutionary and evolutionary pushing the African story beyond the margins of world literature - Peter Kimani
Names of African writers shortlisted for the 2019 edition of the annual Caine Prize for African Writing Awards has been released. The list contains two Nigerian writers, Lesley Nneka Arimah and Tochukwu Okafor. The list also contains authors from Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Kenya. According to Kenyan author, Dr. Peter Kimani, who is also chairman of the judges for this year's award, past Caine Prize winners are being revolutionary and evolutionary, breaking fresh grounds while pushing the African story from the margin to the main stream of world literature. The winner of this year's award would be revealed at the dinner and award ceremony slated for July 8th, 2019 at the Senate House, University of London, England. The winner is entitled to a whooping sum of 10,000 pounds.
