Court Orders Immediate Release of the Former Leader
Former Ivorian President, Laurent Gbagbo has been acquitted of all criminal charges leveled against him by the International Criminal Court. Mr. Gbagbo had been charged with crimes against humanity in connection with violence following a disputed election in 2010. Post-Election violence which led to at least 3,000 dead, he was arrested in 2011 by the United Nations in a Presidential Palace banker. He was the first former head of State to go on trial at the ICC.
