The Lagos State Government has announced the temporary closure of its foremost bridge, the third mainland bridge. This was made known by the State Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Sina Thorpe.
According to Mr. Thorpe the shutdown will start from the mid-night of August 23, 2018 to midnight of August 26, 2018. This will be to allow some investigative maintenance tests to be carried out on the bridge.
The four days closure will enable contractors to assess the true state of the bridge, after which work will commence on the bridge by the end of 2018 or the early 2019.
