Formal Sectors Record Decline in Employment While Informal Record Gains
Unemployment in South Africa has risen to 27.5 percent in the third quarter of the year, a major difference from the previous 27.2 percent in the second quarter.
According the country’s Labor Force survey said in three months to the end of September, 6.2 million people were without jobs in the country compared to 6.1 million people in the previous quarter. The survey also showed that formal sectors like agriculture recorded decline in employment while the informal sector had gains.
