Nigeria becomes largest importer of Norwegian stockfish in recent times
The Norwegian Seafood Council has announced that Nigeria is the largest importer of Norwegian stockfish. Nigeria imported more than 9000 metric tons of stockfish from Norway, in 2017, which was valued at $51.6 million.
The council, at the maiden edition of the Norwegian seafood festival, which held in Lagos, Nigeria recently, released this statement. The council also said that the trade relationship with Nigeria could be traced to as far back 1890.
