Canceled flights by airlines on Sunday left voters who traveled stranded after Postponement of elections
Several voters and passengers who had earlier traveled to eastern and northern parts of Nigeria, to perform their civil duties of voting were left stranded on their planned return to Lagos, Abuja and other parts of the country after postponement of the elections. This situation resulted from the cancellation of flights by airlines due to poor visibility and bad weather conditions occasioned by heavy harmattan haze. The report says that multiple flights to Asaba, Uyo, Benin, Enugu, Calabar and other cities were canceled. Passengers expressed their disappointment in the development and some stranded passengers took to the option of traveling by road after spending several hours waiting at the airport.
