Parents express fear over schools reopening, calls for a review.
As the nation of South Africa begins its phases of reopening the economy to foster growth and productivity, the schools have not been left out. The South African Minister of Basic Education announced in an earlier statement that schools are meant to begin operation beginning from Monday. However, the schools have experienced not more than 85% attendance with students wearing face masks on their faces. The opening of schools in the country has aroused controversies among citizens. Some are not in support of the move as they express fear for the lives of the students and their teachers. Parents of students express fear and concern over the increasing number of Coronavirus cases in the country and therefore, called on the government to either review the decision or halt the reopening of schools for now.
