Motion passed with 24 voting in favor while 7 voted against
The lawmakers in Senegal have approved a constitutional reform to scrap the position of the Office of the Prime Minister. The motion was passed and 24 members of the House voted in favor of the motion while 7 members voted against the motion, this incentive would be the first initiated by the President of Senegal, President Macky Sall in re-election to office for a second term. While some members of the National Assembly believe that this constitutional reform does not in any way strengthen the prerogatives of the President, others believed that the Office of the Prime Minister is still needed very much but President Macky only wants to have monopoly to run the country.
