Putin Applauds Trump for Successfully Cooling Tensions with North Korea

The US President’s ability to make extraordinary moves deserves credit, Putin says

 The President of the Republic of Russia, President Vladimir Putin, has publicly praised his American counterpart, President Donald Trump on his extraordinary moves to bring calmness to North Korea through his strategic meetings with the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un. President Putin made this statement at a plenary session of the 16th meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi. Putin described Trump as a historic leader.

President Putin in his remarks also highlighted the fact that for decades, American leaders have treated North Korea as a pariah and completely ignored Pyongyang. It would be recalled that President Trump and Kim held their first talks in Singapore in 2018 including one at the demilitarized zone between the two countries.
