Nigerian Government Plans Privatization of Key Sectors of the Economy

The Government is Set to Implement Some Critical Reforms in Sectors of the Economy

Nigeria’s minister of Information, Tourism and Culture, Lai Mohammed has stated that the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is set to implement some critical reforms and privatization in key sectors of the economy.

The minister explained this in Stakeholders’ Media Interactive Forum on the privatization program of the Federal Government. He explained that this step is in a bid to put an end to the drain on the country’s treasury and address the appalling failure of state-owned enterprises.

The Minister, who is serving as the Chairman of the Stakeholders’ Engagement Committee of the National Council on Privatization (NCP), explained that pubic enterprises have failed to live up to their expectations.
