Malis constitutional court has on Monday rejected fraud accusations laid against President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita by the opposition candidate in a run-off ballot.
The confirmation clears way for Keita to be inaugurated next month for a second five-year term in office, this is coming at a time when Malian authorities are contending with rising violence by Jihadist Groups Ethnic Militia.
The opposition candidate Soumaila Cisse insisted that he would have won 51 percent of the vote but that he was cheated through ballot box stuffing and other activities by Keutas Camp. Keita on the other hand rejected all the allegations leveled against him.
The election was tainted by armed attacks in the Center and North, where hundreds of polling stations remained closed, and a turnout of only 34 percent reflected feras of violence as well as voter apathy
