New Offshore Windmill Project Opens in the United Kingdom

New project expected to power more than seven million homes

The government of the United Kingdom has said that wind farms in the country represent a breakthrough, typically generating electricity without subsidy. As such a record amount of new offshore wind power has been announced in the country.

The new power project is estimated to provide power to not less than seven million homes at a lower-than-expected cost. However, as delighted as environmentalists are, they have warned ministers not to fail to tackle more difficult challenges such as driving and home heating.
