Launch of first lunar mission positions Israel as fourth country in the world to achieve soft landing
Israel successfully launched it's first lunar mission on Friday morning with 585kg robotic land up blasting a from Florida's Cape Canaveral at 1:15am UK time. The craft called Beresheet - a Hebrew word meaning "in the beginning", is expected to arrive the moon in two months. The success of this launch will earn Israel the record of being the fourth country in the world after Russia, United States, and China to achieve a soft landing on the moon surface. A Jewish philanthropist primarily financed the 70 million pounds mission.
