Fish leather processed from Nile perch fish skin serves for fashion design in Kenya.
The hitherto discarded Nile perch fish skin, has found more usefulness in the world of fashion in Kenya. The thick fish skin is now processed into fish leather in factories and used for fashion designs by Kenyan fashion designers. The designed outfits and accessories were displayed on the runways in Nairobi, capital of Kenya during the Blue Economic Conference's, Blue Fashion show. The Blue Economic Conference was co-organized by Food and Agricultural Organizations to promote blue fashion and for blue growth. This latest development has also led to increased earnings for the fishermen and villagers who process the leather.
