"Trump accepts the resignation of U.S Ambassador to the U.N, Nikki Haley"
The U.S President, Donald Trump said the U.S Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley will be leaving his administration at the end of the year, making it two years since her appointment.
Trump told reporters that Nikky Haley has been very special to him, a fantastic person, and she did an incredible job serving as the U.S Ambassador to the U.N and also as former governor of South Carolina.
President Trump admitted to have been informed, by Nikky six months ago, of her plans to take some time off at the end of her two years tenure as U.S Ambassador to the U.N.
In her response, Nikky thanked President Trump for the opportunity to address the public. She said it's been a great honor, and she considers herself a very lucky girl to have had the opportunity to govern the state that raised her, and also to serve a country she loves so very much and again she thanked the President for the opportunity to serve.
Reiterating her achievements in just two years, as U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., Haley said so much has happened positively with the United States on foreign policy. Now the United States is respected - "Though some countries may not like what we do, but they respect what we do" she said, citing a number of achievements of the Trump administration.
Haley called her time at the U.N. a "blessing," but offered no specific reason for leaving. The media would make this sound like a shake up in the Trump's administration just weeks before the mid-term election but there is talk that there could be another political future for Haley. Last month she coordinated Trump's second trip to the United Nations. Nikky Haley will indeed be missed.
