Protest breaks out in Zimbabwe's two main cities, Harare and Bulawayo over move to hike fuel price
Choas in Zimbabwe as protest breaks out in Harare and Bulawayo over the move by government to double the price of fuel in the country. The new price announced by the government is $3 US dollars per liter- of fuel. The call for the protest and industrial action came from the Zimbabwean Trade Union urging all workers to stay at home for 3 days. According to the president of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, the increase in the price of fuel is government's measure to tackle issues of fuel shortage resulting from increase in fuel consumption and rampant illegal trading.
