Good news for Nigeria’s educational sector as National Executive Council approves four new private universities in Nigeria
Following the need for more universities and tertiary institutions in Nigeria to absorb the increasing number of students who apply for admission yearly, the National Executive Council (NEC) has approved the establishment of four new private universities in Nigeria. The four approved universities are ; Green Field University in Kaduna State (Northern Nigeria), Dominion University in Ibadan, Oyo State (South-West Nigeria), Trinity University in Ogun State (South-West Nigeria), and Westland University in Iwo, Osun State (South-West Nigeria). According to Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, the four universities, have satisfied all requirements of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and they have been granted license to operate.
