Card reader configuration 98% completed says INEC chairman
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has lifted the ban it earlier imposed on presidential and national assembly election campaigns. Political parties and aspirants can now continue with their campaigns, canvassing for votes from the electorate, which is to end 24 hours to the polls on Saturday 23rd February 2019. The electoral body, INEC, reached this decision after reviewing the barn earlier imposed on political parties and aspirants forbidding them from further campaigns after the postponement of the elections last weekend. INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu also disclosed to the general public that card reader configuration is 98% completed assuring all stakeholders of the commission's commitment to the process and therefore ready to conduct the polls on Saturday 23rd February.
