“The Service is Believed to be the first of its Kind” HSBC
The retail bank HSBC UK has launched a scheme to help rebuild lives of those affected by modern slavery and human trafficking in Britain, this is planned to be achieved by letting them have access to bank accounts. In view of achieving this aim, the bank said it had been in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and charities to identify people who had been affected by the circumstances of slavery and trafficking to whom it can offer this service. It is on record that Britain is home to at least 136,000 modern slaves, this is according to Global Slavery Index by human rights group the Walk Free Foundation, this figure is 10 times higher than the government from 2013.
