The team was ecstatically received and celebrated on their return to Nigeria
The World Para Power-lifting competition came to a close on the July 20th 2019, with Nigeria’s foremost Para lifters emerging as the world’s second-best team.
The team which represented Nigeria at the Nur Sultan 2019 para power-lifting championship cried of the tough and challenging experiences encountered throughout the competition. The Nigerian delegates explained that the competition featured 76 countries with 608 athletes, but the team went with only 14 athletes compared to countries like China which had nothing less than 46 athletes in the competition.
Despite the ordeals encountered by the team, the Nigerian women team came out first in the entire competition and emerged second best in the overall competition. Nigeria is scheduled to host the next competition with over 60 countries participating, and the athletes has vowed to maintain a first position in the competition.
