Milan’s Bid Won 47 of the 82 Votes
The bid to host the 2026 Olympics games was on top gear as both contenders went headlock for the final presentation before the International Olympics Committee. The organizing teams made their final presentations during a marathon nine-hour convention in Lausanne, Switzerland before voting was commenced officially. The bid was finally won by Milan-Cortina who defeated rival Stockholm-Are by clinching 47 votes out of the 82 votes casts, while Stockholm received 34 votes as one was marked as invalid vote. The Prime Minister of Sweden, Stefan Lofven in a statement said that Sweden will almost use existing infrastructure and arenas to achieve greater efficiency during the games.
